“I make illustrations, visual phrases to always carry with you.
I live by the sea, near the port of a former fishing and sailor village in Romagna, one of the sweetest places in Italy.
I love living near a starting point — I am triggered by shifting daily scenarios to be able to observe the habits of places and people as something new to discover, never taken for granted.
These gazes, for me, are the origin of everything.
I draw bodies—landscapes, animals and objects appear only when there is a body relating to them.”
Mia Suppiej is an Italian illustrator and multidisciplinary artist.
She draws bodies enamored with a thought or a detail, real or imagined: a quick line almost always accompanied by a handwritten phrase.
Her illustrations are vanishing points, romantic and light-hearted amulets to be kept close to us—on our skin, between the pages of a book, in some corner of our home.
Sometimes they whisper secrets, sometimes they shout declarations.
They always seek a connection.
She leads workshops involving drawing and the body with children and adults.
She trained in Visual Arts and Fashion (IUAV University, Venice), Sociology and Social Research (University of Trento), and Arts and Languages (EHESS, Paris).

Vivo al mare, vicino al porto di un ex borgo di pescatori e marinai in Romagna, tra i luoghi più dolci d’Italia. Amo abitare vicino ad un punto di partenza - amo cambiare quotidianità, osservare le abitudini di posti e persone come qualcosa di nuovo da scoprire, mai scontate. Sono questi sguardi, per me, l’origine di tutto.
Disegno corpi - i paesaggi, gli animali, le cose, dipendono tutte dalla relazione che il corpo attiva con loro. ”
Mia Suppiej è un'illustratrice e artista multidisciplinare italiana.
Disegna corpi innamorati di un pensiero o di un dettaglio, vero o immaginato: una linea rapida quasi sempre accompagnata da una frase scritta a mano.
Le sue illustrazioni sono punti di fuga, romantici e scanzonati amuleti da tenere addosso - sulla pelle, tra le pagine di un libro, in qualche angolo di casa.
A volte sussurrano segreti, a volte urlano dichiarazioni. Sempre cercano una relazione.
Conduce laboratori che coinvolgono il disegno e il corpo con bambini e adulti.
Si è formata in Arti Visive e Moda (Università IUAV, Venezia), Sociologia e Ricerca Sociale (Università di Trento), Arts et Langages (EHESS, Parigi).
